Round 1: Rowrah, 18-19 May

Jehan Daruvala, the Sahara Force India-supported karter, shared the spoils of victory with Philip Rawson in the season-opener at Rowrah.

Daruvala won the first final from pole. The rest of the field was strung out behind Daniel Ticktum and Rawson, who completed the podium.

Daruvala was pushed into a spin at the start of the second final but stormed back to fourth. That had left Rawson with a clear lead until his engine lost its coolant; he held on to win, while Harrison Newey, son of the Red Bull Racing Chief Technical Officer Adrian Newey, took second ahead of Ticktum.
